This means:
O Allah I ask you for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision, and deeds that will be accepted
I think this is cool because it says that if you read this in Arabic every morning 100 Hasanat will be written for him and 100 misdeeds will be washed away. He will be shielded from Shaytan until evening. No one will be able to present anything better than this except for someone who has recited more than this.
I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His slaves and from the taunts of devils and from their presence

Great job Adnan. This is an example of a correct response.
O Allah! You are my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.[sahih al-Bukhari; 8,75,318, at-Tirmidhi; 3393, an-Nasa'i; 5522, Ahmad; 16662]
“If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.”

One of the duas I found on Fortress of a Muslim was this:
لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وَحدَهُ لا شَريكَ لهُ، لهُ المُـلكُ ولهُ الحَمْـد، وهُوَ على كلّ شَيءٍ قدير
Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wahdahulaa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is Able to do all things.
This dua is to be said in the morning ten times, or once to ward off laziness. If you say it ten times, Allah will forgive ten of your sins, give you the reward of freeing ten slaves, and protect you from Satan. If you recite it ten times in the evening you get the same reward. In another hadith it says that you have the reward of freeing a clave from the children of Ismail. You get ten hasanat, and ten sins are removed. You are raised ten degrees and protected form Satan until evening. If you say it in the evening you get the same reward until morning.

This duaa reminds me of all the non-Muslims that believe in many confusing things about Allah (SWT). Some say that Allah (SWT) has a son and what not but as this duaa says there is only ONE god and that is Allah (SWT).
5. Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee kasaanee haathaa (aththawba) wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlim-minnee wa laa quwwatin.
Praise is to Allah Who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me, though I was powerless myself and incapable
Reference: Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, At-Tirmithi. See also 'Irwa'ul-Ghalil 7/47.
This Dua is about getting dressed and about how you are thanking Allah (swt) for the ability to be able to get dressed on our own because without Allah (swt) we wouldn't be able to. And sometimes we take even the smallest actions for granted, and at any moment it could be taken away from us so we should continuously thank Allah (swt).

Adding on to that I think that when your saying this invocation that really reflecting and learning the meaning can change your whole salah and that you will feel that your salah was really excepted and plus your heart will feel light. For any calamity
When any calamity comes, even if pricked by a thorn recite:
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَاخْلُفْ لِي خَيْرَاً مِنْهَا
"Definitely we are from Allah and to Him is our return. O Allah, grant reward in my calamity and grant in its place a good substitute".
(Muslim)
Amira Rabbah

I really like this duaa for calamity because if we ever have any trouble, Allah (SWT) is the only one who can truly help us.Allah (SWT) is pleased when we make duaa because it shows that we know He can help us.

9/30/2013 10:33:09 am
I also agree with you because in Surah Fatiha it also says that. We should always turn to Allah (SWT) if the situation is good or bad. Allah has the ability to do anything and everything so if you are sincere Allah will accept your call.
Alhamdulillaahil-lathee ‘ahyaanaa ba’da maa ‘amaatanaa wa’ilayhin-nushoor.
Praise is to Allah Who gives us life after He has caused us to die and to Him is the return. (Al-Bukhari with Al-Fath 11/113 and Muslim 4/2083)
When I think about this duaa I am happy that Allah (SWT) has let me sleep and get up the next morning to worship Him and live another day! He could have just easily not have let me wake up. And you say this as soon as you wake up.
Hilal yasan 7b

I really like this dua too because we always have to be thankful that allah made us to worship him and whenever we start a new day, we have to start it with worship and end it with worship.
I like this dua because you use this to get rid of Shaytan in the morning and you are thanking Allah for granting you another day of life

9/29/2013 11:56:50 am
I agree with you, Neda. We should be happy and thankful that Allah (SWT) gave us a "second chance" to worship Him. We should really take advantage of the day Allah (SWT) has given us, because like how Neda said, Allah (SWT) could take it away from us in a snap. The best way to start our day is to recite the morning dua! :)
"Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show Me ingratitude" - Al-Baqarah 2:152
We should always try to remember Allah SWT throughout the day by constantly saying dhikr in our free time. If we do that, Allah SWT will remember us and our love will (Inshallah!) increase. :)

Heres one that I found:
How perfect Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creation and His pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words. [three times]"
I found this interesting because it just shows you how perfect Allah can be in examples that I wound't have been able to think about. Subhannalah, Allah is perfect in indescribable ways. We can praise Allah through his creation just by saying Subhanallah and we should really reflect upon what Allah has made. When the dua says the weight of his throne it makes me think of Ayat-Al Kursi and how it says it his footstool expands over the sky and the earth. It also makes me think of the morning dua and how "...all dominion is for Allah master of all creations...". Allah owns everything on this earth and every thing surrounding this planet. When dua says the ink of his words it makes me reflect upon the fact that the Quran is so special that you can't compare any type of text to it. Its word are placed in such a specific way that when reading it outloud you can tell that this is no ordinary piece of writing. These are the words of Allah and they teach us the way of life.

22. Repeat what the Mu'aththin says, except for when he says:
"حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَحَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ"
Hayya 'alas-Salaah (hasten to the prayer) and Hayya 'alal-Falaah (hasten to salvation). Here you should say:
"لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ"
Laa hawla wa laa quwwata 'illaa billaah.
There is no might and no power except by Allah.
Reference: Al-Bukhari 1/152, Muslim 1/288.
The reward is that you get the same good deeds as the Muathin when you repeat after him!!!
Hasbiyah Allahu la Ilaa ha illa huwa. ‘alayhi twakkal tu wa huwa rabbul ‘arshil adheem (9:129)
Allah is sufficient for me. None has the right to be worshipped but He, in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “Allah will grant whoever recites this seven times in the morning and evening whatever he desires from this world or the next.” [Saheeh, Sunan Abee Dawood]
this is found somewhere after page 100 in F.O.T.M. and is interesting because it is a dua', but is also found in the Holy Qur'an.

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire
[2:201]
This dua from the Quran is very common and important. It is very simple and powerful because we are asking Allah SWT to protect us from the Hell fire and to give us good in both worlds. I am already applying this dua to my life because of its simplicity and significane and InshAllah it will be answered by Allah, Al-Mujeeb (the One Who Responds)

This Ayah really made me think about the good we should seek for in both this world and the hereafter. And about how sometimes even the smallest Ayaats or Hadiths can have the same exact impact if not more as one that is triple it's size. It really shows that in some cases/most cases quantity does not override quality, it is actually the opposite where quality overrides quantity. And I think a lot of the time we seem to forget this key point and alhamdulilah this is a real eye opener and a great reminder.

I remember this dua! There was a man at the time of the Prophet (s) who used to say to Allah (swt) that Allah may punish this man in this life, as long as he is not punished in the afterlife. The Prophet (s) then told the man this dua, so that he gets good in both this life AND the hereafter!

In the Name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, there is no might and no power except by Allah.
The dua is for when one is leaving home and that Allah will protect the person who is leaving
I recite this when I enter the masjid:
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Oh Allah open the doors of mercy for me.
I think this dua is useful because we are always going to the masjid and I think we should respect the masjid by saying this dua as you enter the masjid with your right foot. Also this dua is right on top of the masjid door so it reminds you to say it.

This duaa is useful because we attend janazahs so we should be busy with making duaa for the deceased. Mostly before a janazah we are lost by talking and that causes us to lose concern for our future when we die and the future of the deceased. To make ourselves busy we should recite this duaa for the deceased so Allah can give that person a place in paradise. This eases the hardship of the deceased.
