When someone comes up to you and tells you to go and pray. You should go ahead, make wudu and pray. Don't move to another room to pretend you are praying. Just go ahead and pray. Whatever you are doing should be put aside for prayer because whatever you were doing isn't going to run away and prayer and wudu doesn't take that long anyways. But if you don't stop what you are doing to go and pray, there will always be a bad outcome out of what you did. It will also leave a heavy burden on your shoulders afterwards.

What truthful means to me is to be honest-don't lie.
If your mom asked you if you finished your homework and you said you were almost done with it, but really you did less than half of it, that means you exaggerated...a lot. That means you weren't being truthful. You weren't being truthful to your mom, to Allah, to your heart, but most importantly to yourself.

truthful means to tell the truth and to not lie or the problem will get worse by the minute and it will be better if you tell the truth even if your going to get in trouble because eventually the person your lying to will find out and you will get in even more trouble

Here is a poem about truthfulness and what it means to me. Here we go "To me truthfulness, is what i see but inside it hurts me, when i don't see responsibility, Allah has told us to help each other if we lie how are we brothers," TRUST IS A BIG THING IF WE DON'T HAVE IT OUR LIFE WILL BE HARD TO

i think truthful means that if someone asks you why you did something. then you should tell them the truth. an example is that if someone asks you if you prayed and you didn't then you shouldn't lie
Being truthful, is to me, not being honest and not being honest to yourself. I also agree on what Maria said that you have to have trust in you, or else you will not get far into life or getting closer to Alllah SWT.

truthfulness means to me that whatever you say think before you say it so you won't even think about lying
Dear Ms. Tasnim,
Assalamualakum! What being truthful to me is if someone asks you about something, then you better tell the truth and not lie about it. Also, if someone wants you to take care of something special or not, then you help them, take care of it, and return it in the best of shape as they gave it to you or better. An example of being truthful is if a teacher asks you if you did your homework and you forgot it in school, then you tell the teacher the truth to get blessings and the teacher will be proud that you told the truth and will give you another chance, inshallah!
Sincerely,

I agree with Heba, telling lie just make your deeds worse. Tell the truth that's the only way you can be successful.

Thanks for agreeing to mine. I also agree to yours by at least making a good intention to the truth, not lie):

Assalamualiakum! Being truthful means to me as the intentions in one's heart. If you have a bad intention for lying and you don't do it, that's being truthful to yourself and Allah.

truthfulness in my opinion is something that if you use it a small part of you is light .For example, if you tell a lie you feel heavy and guilty like a weight on your shoulders. In contrast when you tell the truth the buden has been lifted

I totally agree Raiyan. I feel like being truthful means being able to keep one's trust and not betray them also not being truthful is one of the signs of a hypocrite like we discussed last week in morning halaqa. Being a hypocrite is one of the worst things any believer can be considered after doing shirk.Sometimes it's hard to tell the truth but it is better to get grounded on earth then in the afterlife in NAAR!!

Being truthful means that you are saying what you do. You do not say something that you didn't even bother doing, and saying that you did it to make people laugh or even impress one another. Even if it means losing something, you should be truthful. However if there is a point where you need to lie, I think you can lie. If someone were to tell one simple lie, they would end up with a question about their lie, and they would have to make another lie to cover it up. In the end, they would be trapped in a long chain of lies. When your honest, none of that happens :D

In my opinion I think that being truthful means to always tell the truth and to also be trustworthy because you can't be truthful but not trustworthy, and you can't be trustworthy but not truthful.

I think truthful means Telling the truth. You should always tell the truth if not your lying, and if you lie once you have to make another one to cover up that one and so on.An example of being truthful is if some asked you did pray, you have to tell them the truth even if you didn't

Being truthful means to me that when your parents or siblings ask you to read quran or pray salaat you say okay and go and actually make wuthu not ditch it then read salaat completely focused on allah instead of focusing on dinner or your homework

Being truthful to me means not lying about things. My mom told me that one person she knew well lied as a kid and he grew up to be a thief. That's really scary. I don't want to know anyone like that. She was very serious about it.

To me, being truthful means not lying, being honest, etc. But I think it also means being truthful to yourself. If you did something wrong, don't lie and tell yourself and everyone else that you didn't do that thing. That just makes it harder on your part. That one tiny lie is going to lead up to much bigger and worse lies. The moral of this is to tell everyone else the truth, but more importantly, tell yourself the truth.

I agree with you, Imani. In order to tell a lie, you must first lie to yourself, so you are convinced it is okay to lie. Then it will be easier for you to lie even more, because you can now simply shrug off the idea that what you are doing is bad. I know this might be confusing, but it's the truth!

Two of the themes for this year are trust and truth. They go hand in hand. Telling the truth helps maintain someone's trust. Trust is fragile; easy to break, but so hard to put back together. I know everyone knows this, but really, just how many people actually apply this?! Knowledge and action also go together; one without the other is useless. Our school is unlike others; we aren't aloud to put locks on our lockers, because we need to TRUST each other enough that we shouldn't need locks.
I value truth and trust. It is some of the things that help keep family together. They are also some of the things that keeps friends together. I always feel so heartbroken wen I find that somebody who I trusted had lied to me! I'm not trying to get sappy, but this is the truth. I think we should acknowledge ours and others mistakes and use them to our advantage to become a better Muslim.

Well truthful and trust are two of our themes for the school year. So what being truthful means to me is that you need to be able to be trusted easily be anyone else so if you are known to be a lying kind of guy than that will eventually take effect on the person that asks you a question and needs to be able to trust you. So what I am trying to say is that things in the past will soon or later take effect on the future experiences.

To me being truthful to me is showing how much I want to really tell my self or admit. Also it means how much I can handle to the truth. Furthermore, it reflects how much of a fact I can bare.

I think that being truthful is knowing that Allah is watching and basing your actions around this information. An example could be that you wanted to look on someone's paper, but you realized that Allah is watching.... Even if the teacher is not.
