Well, I was really sick and still am...that's why I did not come to school Monday and made a lot of dua to eat again and become normal and to not die. I don't think I invested in my akhras that much in the break. Sad....
Did you know that becoming sick is actually a way for you to get rid of bad deeds Heba? So in a way you did actually invest in your akhira ;)
yup! You get good deeds whenever you are in a hardship or in some sort of pain. Your patience counts in this as well.
I hope you will get well soon and recover fully InshaAllah Hiba
ASAK, yup i agree with Saarah! You cleansed your deeds without knowing it! :)
I invested on my akhira by sitting in my bed every night and thinking of what I had done that day and if I rememebered Allah during my break. I was traveling so I had the perfect time because I didn't have to do any chores.
That's great! It's always good to remember Allah and all the blessings He gave you. Inshalah, you will get many benefits from that.
wow! That is a great thing to do. Whats cool is that its not direct worship, like praying or reading Quran, but worship that anyone can do, but only with a good intention
I invested in my akhirah by making sure every night I said Ayatul-Kursi, Surat al-Ikhlas (3 times), Surat al-Falaq (3 times), and Surat an-Nas (3 times) before I went to bed. I try to do this every night to get the most benefit from it.
I did the same Sanaa!
I think it's good that you did this, because it's not something that is too hard that would take up a lot of time, therefore, it's easier for you to do it often, as you said you try to do.
What a coincidence, I did too! It is very important to remember Allah ALWAYS! Remembering Allah before sleeping makes your sleep peaceful. I can say that from experience!
That is so ironic!!!! I did too!!!!
I don't believe it! Same here!
Wow Mashallah Sanaa I did the same thing but in addition I tried to make a lengthy dua that me and my family go to Jannah and stay away from Hellfire. I also tied to say Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar everytime I was free or bored and to help me I thought about the things I could earn in the hereafter.
Masha Allah, you kept up with quite a bit during your free time. I applaud you for thinking of your family and others instead of just yourself. And you did all this without any reminders and stuff....
That's wonderful that you were trying to build a personal routine, and it was beneficial to you. I hope you continue to build on it and become a stronger Muslimah by doing so :)
I didn't do much this break except travel for two and a half days, so I had a lot of free time!
I invested in my akhira in a few ways:
1) Every night, I somehow always remembered to say all the du'as, even though I usually forget!
2) I studied about Nuh (A) and Ibrahim (A) because of a competition, but I was still learning.
3) I listened to Islamic lectures on YouTube (about 6).
4) Revised some short surahs in my head in the car.
5) Kept up with my prayers. I know it's not something extra, but I was still investing in my akhira.
6) I tried to keep myself from getting angry at my brother a lot of times.
7) I did my best to remember to say Bismillah before eating.
8) I kept other people's wants in mind. For example, when there isn't enough of a good food at the dinner table, usually it ends up in an argument between 2 people. So I would just let them have the yummy food instead.
9) I probably did more small deeds that I don't really remember.
I guess I didn't do anything HUGE like fasting or volunteering, but all the small things that I did might add up if I keep it up. Now I can make the things from above a habit that I can practice even in the smallest amount of time. Small deeds that are done often are better to Allah than the big ones done every once in a while.
You know Sarah, its true that you may have not done anything big over the break, but all those small good deeds can add up a lot!!!
Yup, those deeds can be small, but they add up quickly, and they are what really matter in the Akhirah! :)
Ok fine then but it is kinda creepy ur on the same time as me and reading every comment I post so now I'm creeped and I will log off ..........
Over the break I did a lot of things that doesn't mean I stopped remembering Allah and my duties as a Muslim to fulfill our request. For example after most prayers I did what we usually do at school. And at night time I said almost every Surat I know . So I did a lot of things. I had fun but still remembered what my job was to do
I clicked send by accident I also meant to add this part in . This can actually be a helpful thing for the abhors. I did things here and there maybe not as worth as much deeds. Yet doing things here and there that are small can lead up to something big and a great reaction from Allah. And we should all want Allah to think positive of us! :)
Sorry I meant this can be helpful for others not abhors, whatever that means.
I appreciate your comment c.v....... But who are you?
Over break I tried my best to keep up with 3 things!
1- I kept up with my prayers.
2- I went to Jumuah every Friday with my family.
3- I tried my best to help my mom and to be as respectful as I can to my siblings.
All of these things gave me a head start to having a good Akhira! Inshallah :)
those are really good three things you did alena and inshallah you will have a good akhira
what i invested during my break of my akhira was that as i was reading our Ben Carson book for L.A was that Ben Carson had a lot of faith in god and asked him for help constantly and it helped remind me that we can ask Allah to help us with anything but when it is our akhira we can't ask for help from anyone at the time we are being asked on what we did with our lives were alone and that is something important to remember in this life and for the hereafter
sorry forgot to put my class name and grade
That is a good and very true point and I like how you did a great connection to the book you are reading. Everything we do has Islam hidden in there ( Like eating we say bismillah) we can learn something about Islam everyday. And Inshallah you have a GREAT Akirah.
One way I have invested in the break by memorizing a lot of quran. I also went to many of the parayers, including jummah prayer, with my dad to the masjid. I also made dua for my granparents that they will be forgiven of all there sins on the day of judgement, and I also prayed for all the muslims that Allah will have mercy on the on the day of Judgement.. I was also playing calm with my little brother because he is sick and he has slept randomly a lot these days. Inshaallah, Allah will cure him :)
Remember to repent to Allah (swt) to support those whom have issues in their lives. Inshallah Allah (swt) will support him.
I invested in my akhirak over break because over my 10 hour drive I recited the 30th juz with the imam several times but not the whole drive, and every night before I went to sleep I tried to recite at least three surahs. And I did the exact same t
It is good that you made use of your time in the car because normally people waste their time by watching movies or reading random things that don't benefit them (reading is good, just try reading the Qur'an instead) or sleeping or doing other things. May Allah Bless you for taking your time to recite Qur'an as people our age nowadays usually don't even recite Qur'an.
-hing on the way back
Akhirah not akhirak
I invested my akhirah during the break by memorizing and reviewing a lot of quran. I would memorize two pages every day and then I would review them. I would do this again the next day but I would review the pages from the previous days. I accomplished my goal of how much I was going to review over the break by investing for my akhirah. This is something one should do always. You never know when you're going to die....
Also, it doesn't only have to be quran. It could be dhikr, praying on time, making more du'a, etc. Reviewing quran was just one of the things I did over break and still continuously continue to do.
To invest in my Akhirah, over the break I continued to memorize Quran to keep up with my daily memorization. Also over the break I visited my cousins and most of the time they can get a little annoying, but I had to remember to keep my cool and remember that they are little kids. I also made sure to read Ayat al Kursiyy, and the 3 Quls before going to sleep.
I am in 6A.
During my spring break my family and I had went to London Ontario. We all enjoyed the break. Although on the way back there was a storm and we were in the highway (2 1/2 hour drive). But after how my mother and I witnessed Allah(swt)'s power. We both realized how the D.O.J would be containing Allah's power.
In the break, I invested in my ahirah by reading Quran, and always praying the sun nah prayers. I also invested in my akhirah by going outside for the sake of Allah SWT.
During my break, I went out of town and made Dua that my flight would go well and me and family would reach safely inshallah.
Another way I invested in the akhira during my break was that I also listened to my mom when she asked me to play with my little brother and to keep him busy. It is also a good thing I listened, because if I got my mom angry, Allah would be angry too. But since I got my mom happy, I gained many good deeds that may save me on the DOJ.
A way I invested my akhira during spring break was that I listened to my mom whatever she asked me. And when I listen to my mom, it makes me proud. Anyways they say that beneath the feet of a mother is paradise.
I also listened to my mother so she can have a nice relaxing break to enjoy.
i really worked on getting my prayers done on time and always being in the remembrance of Allah.
over the break i focused on do all my prayers done as soon as possible.
what a coincedence!!! me too!!! I like the choice you (and i made)
One thing I did over the break for my akhira was make dua for myself to get better when I was sick. sooner or later i was better
Something that i did over the break to for my aakhirah was that i tried reviewing quran. Even though, I wasn't in school, quran was still something i remembered to read everyday.
yeah fatima, Its a really good thing you reviewed the quran which is the source of our religion and you got a lot of hasanats for that.
Well, in break i invested in taking my time and learning prophet Nuh and Ibrahim (as) lives and how i can take those life lessons in to my life. i also studied the prayer meaning so i know i am saying ion prayer during the break.
SORRY I AM IN 6A
I invested my akhirah during the break in many ways
First: I visited my grand mother's sister , as we all knew visiting relatives is one of a good deeds the profit Mohammed ( s.a.w ) said " the person who breaks the ties of kinship will never enter Paradise".
Second: I was at the restaurant I saw a man who was handicapped , he was trying to open the door I opened it for him.
Third: Whenever my mom tell me to do I pay attention to do it cleaning my room, don't watch T.V.
Sorry I'm in 6a
I invested in my akhira by simply trying to wear modest clothing, since i wasn't at school where the uniform is already modest, i had to choose to wear clothes that showed my Muslim character.
well, what i did was that i tried to say ayaat al kursiyy after every prayer because if you do say that, the only thing keeping you away from Jannah is death.
I also tried to read more Quran, and have more khushoo in my prayer. because sometimes everyone gets distracted to the worldly thongs around them, but i tried to not get distracted and to completley focus on praying
I also tried to recite ayatul kursiy after every prayer and just say it randomly
In the first part of the break i traveled so i made dua for a bunch of things especially going to jannah. Also I tried to do some extra stuff after prayer like pray all the sunnahs etc.
the way i invested in the Akhira was by reading a lot of quran so i dont forget anything i was learning in school and used it to help me get good deeds. when i was sick, i made a lot of duaa to help cure myself and made duaa for people around the world who were going through more difficult time. i also made sure to keep on top of my prayers :)
Over the break,
1.) I tried my best to gain more khusua in salah
2.) Attended Friday prayer at the masjid
3.) Every Sunday I volenteer at Sunday school for my C.O.C project
During the break, I remembered to keep Allah (swt) in my head, and knowing that I will go to him in the Akhira. By remembering him, I did more dhikr, made dua, and prayed with more kushuo. InshAllah I keep this up.
three things that I made sure to kept up with was
1. I made sure too pray all of my salahs
2. I also made sure too keep up with my dikr after I pray
3. I made sure to help others with what they need.
I read a book and watched lectures about Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Nuh (AS). I also prayed all of my prayers even though I was traveling most of the time.
Studying for the VIP huh? :)
One thing that I did was pray Imam for my brothers and mother when my father wasn't there (because he had work when we were on break). In everyday life, we make wudu and pray and we don't make a big deal of it. But when other people's salah depends on you having good wudu, it really helps you to make the right intention, focus on your salah much better, and overall have a more spiritual sense of life.
When praying Imam, I learned that you do less bad and do good deeds because you are more aware that Allah (SWT) is watching. Whenever I was about to do something( I was able to remind myself, " Is this the behavior that an Imam should have?" And with that, I instantly felt as if I was a better Muslim.
So during the break, I went on a "stay cation". I didn't go anywhere fancy.. just stayed home, went horseback riding, watched movies, etc. During my time home, I had lots of great potential to work in my Ibadah for the Akhira. Did I spend all my time wisely,...NO. I regret it, but these are the things I tried to keep up with:
1. Praying on time: I didn't exactly do this perfectly, but Insha Allah I will be able to reach a level of Ihsan in my prayers.
2. I made ALOT of duaa for success in certain things and my own desires. I made duaa to help me towards a successful Akhira too.
3. I tried using my spare lazy time for Dhikr: like if I was doing pretty much nothing like watching TV or riding my bike or sitting on a walking horse, I would do Dhikr in my head or make Duaa or recite some quran like ayaatul Kursi.
4. I CONTROLLED MY TEMPER.. This i have noticed a heck load of improvement. I don't yell at my sisters as much, and I'm more positively social. I got a little tense from doing nothing each day, so having this controlled saved me.
yup, i did alot more though.... but i guess i forgot. INsha Alllah i will keep these things up through my daily life.
really great reflection amirah. All of these aspects are important to remeber through our daily lives inshallah.
I like how you tried to stop your laziness!
Looking back on my spring break I didn't get as much as I wished had done. However, I did do somethings with my break that I am proud of.
1: I was able to be of more assistance to my mother which I have been wanting to achieve for some while, and help her clean most of the house and other things that she needed to be done.
2: I was able to be more active, and on several occasions during that week was able to be out of the house for a couple of hours.
3: I got to meet up with my family and some friends that I haven't seen in a while and felt as though I was neglecting though not purposefully.
4: I was able to achieve many personal goals that I felt were important to me and I have been wanting to do now.
Hello everyone during break I did several things to invest in my akhirah.
1. I made sure to keep up on my prayers even though I was in Florida.
2. I made dua every time I went on a roller coaster (you know, so I won't fall off and die, that sort of dua.) Even though it was pretty much a personal dua, it was still dhikr, right?
3. When I went to the beach I made sure I was modestly covered in the areas that must be covered and more.
Well, that is only a small hand-picked equivalent-to-gourmet batch of things that I did to invest in my akhirah.
During the break I set up my alarm so i can wake up for fajr everyday. this was tough because of staying up really late but alhamdililah I managed. Inshallah i will try to keep this as a habit
One thing I invested on my akhira in the break by doing my regular Islam pillars (For example, Prayers) and I tried to teach my younger cousin some quick easy facts to know about Islam (About the Hell Fire and Jannah). I wanted to teach her so she can be prepared for the akirha at a young age and I also increased in good deeds by teaching.
During the break I hadn't gone traveling, but had gone to a lot of places, with family or friends. Sometimes when people are on break their minds are set on, "I am on break, don't bother me, or talk to me. All I am gonna do is eat, sleep, and watch TV." Well, during break every time my parents had asked me to do something around the house my first thought would be, "Ugh, why do I have to." But then I'd remember the reward of getting up and helping my parents. I try and motivate myself for me to be able to get good deeds, which will eventually, Inshallah, lead up to Jannah. :)
Alhamdulilah I got to experience many beautiful things over break because I got the chance to go to Europe.
Before I went however, I tried to constanlty remind myself to praise Allah for the beautiful things I would soon see.
Alhmadulilah it worked because I practiced my dhikr a lot by saying mostly SubhanAllah because of the beautiful things.
This is actually one of my goals because I heard a very nice dua that said something like "Oh Allah let us be of those who moisten our tounges with Dhikr constantly" Ameen
I thought this would be amazing if it could be in all of our lives to even unconsciously praise Allah and Alhamdulilah I believe that I got to experience that which will InshAllah give me a better Akhira.
I didn't do much in the break. But one thing I noted is that when I became sick it was pretty bad. But then I thought about the other people in the world and how the are in such a horrible state and after a little while I felt thankful and made a lot of dua'.
Something that I did over break is actually something I learned in Islamics. I remember that we were talking about Jinns and that they could be anywhere and if you harm one that they could take revenge on. So, in my break I tried to remember to say Bismill'ah when ever I did something just to make sure I didn't harm a Jinn and that no Jinn is coming after me to take revenge because that would just be scary.
Thats really good, Safa, We should say Bismillah to be safe from the Jinns.
During the break i invested in my akhira by keeping up with my prayers and trying to make up the prayers i missed. I also would try to say the duas and surahs before i went to sleep to try and form a habit. During the break I got sick for a few days so i made dua to get better and Alhamdullilah now I am better.
I invested during the break by making dua every night right before bed and i ask Allahs forgiveness for the things i did wrong that day. i also tried to pray all of my sunnahs, since i was at home most of the time and it would be easy.
I have invested in the Akhira by trying to make sure that I pray all 5 prayers ever day. Also I make sure I read 3 pages of Quran everyday. Furthermore, I try doing thikir after Prayers.
Mashallah i tried to do the same too, inshallah we can pray all of our prayers on time without a struggle.
I invested in my akhirah by staying outside and not sleeping in and wasting time, i would listen to what my mom wanted me to do then remained outside and did not stay inside and hibernate.
I invested in the akhira by learning about prophets and actually applying their steadfastness and other aspects in my life. I also pondered about all of Allah's creation and how complex and amazing they were. Some questions I had:
How are Angels so POWERFUL?
How are they invisible?
What do Jinn do?
What is my purpose?
How are we constructed?
My cousins also left to Dubai (to go back to their hometown) and I realized how fast time flies. They stayed for 9 months for school and time just flew. We need to make use of our time all the time because you can never have it back. Our life passes so quickly and it is our job we fill it with ibada and righteous deeds.
Allah has His own will for everything and since all of his creation are different and complex in a certain way, we know that there is an Ultimate God, and that is Allah.
Stuff that are good(random stuff)
i tried to pray all my prayers and reading at least 2 pages of the quran or more. i did that by going to the masjid every day and praying and reading before and after.
One thing i did was put on the Quran instead of music. it helped me focus better on my work. it also helped me memorize some surahs. and it sounds better than music. it is also a nice thing to have around. angels will come near ur house. and the Quran will be one of the things that help me in the akhirah, not music.
I prayed all of my prayers, and read Quran. Also, I went to both Jumuah Khutbas. I tried to keep Allah in my mind.
I invested in my akhirah over the break by:
1. Studying Prophet Nuh and Prophet Ibrahim (AS)
2. Doing all the Fard stuff
3. Making lots of Dua
4. Allah made me get sick so I get good deeds for being in pain
5. Stopping some bad habits
Well during the break and even now, i did small deeds. yea small deeds are small deeds, but they all count, they all add up! I picked up trash that my neighbors threw, i helped out in the house, and outside of the house! i also did a lot more, but all these deeds count!
Over break, some things I did to invest in my Akirah are:
1. Before I went to sleep I said Surahs Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nas, 3 times each
a. Recited 1st ten Ayahs of Surah Kahf
b. Read Surah ASR
c. Read Ayatul Kursiy
d. Made Dua
2. During the break I also tried to make Dua for everyone and not just me.
During break, I invested time in my Akhirah by keeping up with my prayers on time and also praying Sunnah. Also, every night I made dua and read surahs.
During break, I invested time in my Akhirah by saying Quran and dua's before i go to sleep because it gives you good deeds, it protects you while you're sleeping, and it is a good habit that you should do and teach others.
I invested in my Akhira during the break by praying the fard and the extra such as sunnah or witr. I also did a lot more adkhar than I usually did. Another thing I did was say the surats Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nas three times before I went to bed. I also said surat Fatiha, Ayatul Kursi, and made dua not only for me, but others as well before I went to bed.
During break, I studied Quran every day or so, to help me keep the same Quran knowledge I had before. I didn't want to forget any Surahs ^-^
During break, I went to a pretty far country with not a mass population of Muslims. So, it was extra hard to do even basic things. But, that pushed me to do more. Here is what I accomplished
1) Tryed not to drive my mom crazy (you know how she gets on trips.) This was probably the most complicated.
2) Make sure I remembered to do all of my prayers. Even though this is a simple deed, it is hard to keep up in the commotion of a trip.
3) Remembering Allah. I saw many beautiful sights Alhamdullilah. I made sure to say Alhammdullilah, or Subhannallah.
4) While we were on our trip, we knew my mom's aunt was having surgery. We made sure to get to a working phone to check up on her. Also when we got back, we visited her.
5) Dua. I made dua to Allah that everything would be okay and to thak him for my blessings.
Yep. Those are some of the things I remember. Alhamdullilah my break was great.
During the break i went to California and I saw all of Allah's creations (mountains, Oceans....) And while i was enjoying the view and how beautiful it was. I realized that Jannah is 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 more beautiful then anythng in this world
i invested on my akhira by sitting in my bed every night and thinking of what I had done that day and if I remembered Allah during my break.
One thing that i established that i am proud of is saying the shahadah before bed. This invested in my akhira because When i die ill remember better to say the shahadah! Also, i saw lots of Allahs beautiful creations, and remembered to say Subhanallah!
