Quran states:
And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God’s favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren;and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire,and He saved you from it. Thus doth God make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided(The Glorious Quran 3:103)
this reminds me of unity which is the theme of unit one.

Surah Al-Zalzala...
"For that thy Lord will have given it inspiration." This ayah can be connected with one of my tarbiyah concepts which is Inspiration. Inspirtion is shown in this ayah because the Lord will give you inspiration,so you will make better choices and avoid Shaytan.

"Everything good that happens to you (O Man) is from God, everything bad that happens to you is from your own actions". (Quran 4:79). this shows that a muslim should have noble character and one should think before they speak. never spread negative energy

Wait what's a tarbiyah concept? ('-')
No I'm just kidding , I'm not sure what the ayah is but one concept is form ( I think ) and Allah (SWT) created everything with proportion and form and measurements.
This has to do with unity. If the Muslim community stands as one, there will be peace in America, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Pakistan, and other countries.
Say: He is God, the One and Unique;
God, the Eternal source and support
Of everything;
He begets not, and neither is He begotten;
And none is His equal.’
(al-Ikhlas 112: 1-4)
Verily ! Allah will not pardon those who associate a partner with Him. Apart from him, He will pardon all others . Who ascribe partners to Allah has gone far astray.
This connects to centrality because when we commit shirk (astaghfir allah), we are going off the straight path.. astray, apart from Allah's oneness and forgivingness. Allah (SWT) should be the center of our sacrifice and devotion, we shouldn't do it for other worldly items or creations. We should stay centered and focused on Allah (SWT) only.

I agree! :) This also relates to our ayah of the week, our intentions should be solely for the sake of Allah, and nothing else.
Ayah
9/16/2013 10:23:58 am
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "We believe in Allâh and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Ishâque (Isaac), Ya'qûb (Jacob) and Al-Asbât [the twelve sons of Ya'qûb (Jacob)] and what was given to Mûsa (Moses), 'Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allâh) we have submitted (in Islâm)." (3:84)

"As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, thou has no part in them in the least; their affair is with Allah: he will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did." (6:159)
This ayah has to do with unity. Some quote that it reminds me of is "United we stand, Divided we fall". (PS: I hope I did it right :)!)

I agree with you that this coat relates to unity because if a religion is not practiced then it will decrease and fell apart like the Mongolian empire.

6. And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.
this ayah relates to faith because if you don t have strong faith ten you will probably go astray because of all the distractions in this dunya then for example the ad-dijal, and if you do not strive to keep your iman strong you'll end up in hell.
“Verily, Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due…”
Surah An-Nisa ayah 58
In this ayah it talks about trust and if someone trusts you with one of their possessions then you should give it back as soon as they want it back. Trust is a thing that can break very easily but it hard to gain back. So use it well.

"Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, in six Days. Then He mounted the Throne. Ye have not, beside Him, a protecting friend or mediator. Will ye not then remember?" (32:4)
This ayah reminded me of the form Allah has given to all of his creations, which relates to the theme of Unit 4.

Allah is Al-Khaliq, The Creator. He created everything on this earth. He created Adam from clay, and blew his soul into him. Allah is the All-Mighty and we must believe that.

Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers Especially the middle prayer, and stand before Allah in a devout (frame of mind).
(2:238)
I chose this ayah because it talks about prayer and this unit is about spiritual literacy. And the best way to increase our bond with Allah is prayer. It also makes our spiritual connection with Allah stronger. This ayah talks about how we should pray with a right frame of mind, prayer is our time with Allah, so we cant be thinking about worldly matters. This relates to unit one or spiritual literacy.

"And be steadfast in prayer; practice regular charity; and bow down your heads with those who bow down (in worship)."
I chose this Ayah from the Quran because it talks about a really important part of Islam, salah. Salah is the first thing we will be asked about on the Day of Judgement. And if our salah goes well, everything else will go well after that too, Inshallah! This relates to Spiritual Literacy (unit 1) because Allah (SWT) wants us to be balanced, spiritually, mentally and physically. We should always be God Conscious knowing that Allah is always watching us. We should be sincere in everything we do, especially or prayers. Allah (SWT) can see everything, even what's inside of us. We should have pure intentions and do it for the sake of Allah (SWT) and nobody else.
If we do it to look good in front of the community, we'll pray the price for it in the HereAfter.
Like it says in this ayah, we should be steadfast in prayer and give charity. We should do it sincerely for the sake of Allah.
In Islamics there was a Hadith of 3 men who all did good actions just to look good in the community. They saved others' lives, helped people, etc. They received fame in the community because nobody knew their intentions. When Allah (SWT) asked them who they did it for, they all said for Allah (SWT). But since Allah (SWT) can tell everything, He knew they were from the liars and sent them all to the Hell Fire. They wanted fame, and they got it. But they had to end up praying the price for it later.
It's really scary when just one whispering from Shaytan can change our whole intention, which then leads us to a severe punishment. Inshallah, we all do good actions for Allah (SWT) only!

Oops! In the second to last paragraph I wrote this:
They wanted fame, and they got it. But they had to end up praying the price for it later.
instead of writing this:
They wanted fame, and they got it. But they had to end up PAYING the price for it later.
Sorry!

[2:45] Nay, seek (Allah’s) help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit,-
This ayah means that we have to sek allahs help with prayer and being patient and never giving up. Its hard for the people who didnt follow isla

Sorry.. It didnt let. Me finish but anyways...
But for the people who were on the straight path, it is easy for them because they were humble.
This relates to spritual literacy because the people who are spritual and beleive in islam are the ones who will be going to jennah

"Do you verily disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two Days and you set up rivals (in worship) with Him? That is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
This relates to what my class has been learning in social studies. Some of the rulers (Genghis khan) were really feared by everyone, but the thing is Allahs the most powerful not any of thes people. We should know in our hearts that no one can harm us if Allah didn't will for it to happen.

Nyphsy?!?!(what about my bad deeds?!)except for the phrophet Muhammad saw he will be the only one concerned about something else. Ummahti?!? Umahti?!? WHAT ABOUT MY UMMAH??!?!??!

Sura 3 - Al-E-Imran (MADINA) : Verse 137
Systems have passed away before you. Do but travel in the land and see the nature of the consequence for those who did deny (the messengers).
This tells us that there are systems everywhere, and those who do not follow Allah will receive punishment. Those who try to see Allah's sytems will. Those who do not want to, won't.
